CPR/AED and First Aid Certification Requirement for Caregivers
At StayHome.Care, we want our caregivers to feel prepared, confident, and ready to provide safe support to our clients.
There is a new requirement for all current caregivers.
All current caregivers must complete CPR/AED and First Aid certification before September 1, 2026.
This certification is required to continue working after September 1, 2026.
What Is Required?
All current caregivers must complete:
CPR certification
AED training
First Aid certification
In-person training
These certificates are important because they help caregivers know what to do in an emergency.
Why This Training Matters
This training helps caregivers:
Learn basic emergency response
Know what to do if someone needs help
Feel more prepared during care visits
Support client safety
Follow new caregiver requirements
Stay ready for different situations
This training is not only a requirement. It is also an important part of providing safe and dependable care.
Deadline to Complete Training
Caregivers must complete the training before:
September 1, 2026
This means:
Training must be completed before September 1
Certification must be received before September 1
Caregivers must have CPR/AED and First Aid certificates to continue working after September 1
Important Payment Information
StayHome.Care will help cover the cost of the class if caregivers complete the training before the deadline.
Please remember:
StayHome.Care will pay for the class if completed before September 1
If training is completed after September 1, caregivers must pay for the class themselves
Caregivers cannot continue working after September 1 without the required certificates
We encourage all caregivers to schedule their class as soon as possible.

July 10, 2026
3:00 PM – 9:30 PM
July 17, 2026
9:00 AM – 3:30 PM
July 23, 2026
3:00 PM – 9:30 PM
More training dates may be shared if available.

Training Provider
The training will be through:
Southeast Community College
Caregivers will receive more details about registration and next steps.
What Caregivers Should Do Next
Caregivers should:
Review the available class dates
Choose a class that works with their schedule
Contact us and inform us what’s your chosen schedule
Complete the training before September 1
Keep a copy of their certification card
Submit their CPR/AED and First Aid certification once completed
Please do not wait until the last minute. Classes may fill up.
What Happens If Training Is Not Completed?
If a caregiver does not complete CPR/AED and First Aid certification before September 1, 2026:
They will need to pay for the class themselves
They cannot continue working after September 1 without the certificates
They will need to complete the requirement before returning to work
This requirement is very important for all current caregivers.
